Blazblue Continuum Shift EXTEND

Released during Valentine’s day, the English Version of Blazblue Continuum Shift EXTEND is a must get for any BB fan.

Currently I’ve been preoccupied by this game not only due to competitive reasons, but also because of the other features this game has. I have to say for an “anime fighter”, Blazblue really took it to the next level when it came to delivering stuff that any anime fan would like. Btw the game on the right is the first Continuum Shift game, and I have to say, I wasn’t pleased with the cover DX Read more of this post

Indestructible 2011

P2D hosted not just one but three tournaments during their event called ‘Indestructible’ held at the Emporio plaza, last August 20, 2011.

As some of the readers here know, I’ve been working with fighting game related events over the past year and I’ve been primarily working with the Blazblue Community. This is the first time I’ve had the chance to work on something exclusively non-Blazblue related so it was quite the experience really being able to meet different people from the usual. Blazblue artbook giveaway

I’m pretty sure most videogaming communities out there have their own form of giveaways. Shirts, mugs, stickers, but I’m sure people hardly find artbooks being used as giveaways XD

This is a thank you gift to the Blazblue community for their continued support and for being able to go to the rannbats which were held last saturday, July 30, 2011. Two of the community members and I planned to make this giveaway many moons ago (like since November or December) and after being delayed for a couple of times, it was finally released. We never announced to anyone about this effort so it really was a surprise to all those who came during the event. Read more of this post

Ozinefest BBPH IAD Booth

Well this is a pretty late post, probably two months late already.

Better late than never I guess. Occupying two convention centers, Ozinefest was held April 8-10 within the premises of Megamall in the Ortigas Area. We pretty much one day that was casual laden, while Saturday and Sunday were dedicated for the Blazblue CS1 tournament and the Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournament. Both tourneys had a high turnout, and we had to turn down some people who came in late or because the 64-man limit was already fully occupied. Read more of this post

IAirDash Website and Ozinefest Teaser pics

Never imagined that I’d be writing and editing for two websites at a time, as if my blog wasn’t enough. Despite this added workload, I would like to think of this as another opportunity of sorts for me to polish writing skills and meet new people as well.

IAirDash, or IAD, is a fast growing information hub website which caters primarily to fast paced 2D fighting games, which often times has an air dash ingrained into its system. Aside from the obvious adoption of a gameplay system as a name, IAirDash also stands for having the mindset of doing the most seemingly impossible. Doing a self-propelled dash in mid-air is impossible, then again, setting foot on the moon was considered impossible as well a few centuries back. Whether it be beating the best player or perfecting a seemingly impossible combo you want to execute, IAD aims to exemplify the spirit of never giving up. Read more of this post

Blazblue Continuum Shift Material Collection

Been waiting for this mook to arrive since April came and after being delayed twice, my copy (along with two others) has finally arrived!

For those who have been reading this blog, you already probably have an idea that I’m a huge fan of Arksys games. Thus it comes to no surprise that I’ll be buying the material collection sooner or later. I didn’t buy Arcadia’s Blazblue CS2 book due to lack of fundage and that fact that most of the stuff that’s really important, specifically the frame data, will be translated by members of Dustloop. BBPH – Blazblue Philippines 3rd Ranking Battles – Fatal February

Being part of an organization team is hard, even if its just for a video game tournament. But its somewhat fulfilling to see a bunch of happy faces as well. A lot of effort has been placed after all, and its not just some patchwork event thrown together. Took us probably a month or two for this event to come into fruition.

Once again, this third Ranking Battles for Blazblue is held at IPlay much like the second one (LINK). A lot of the regulars didn’t come due to either school, work or family matters but miraculously we met that magic number once again (32, which means no one gets a free win aka byes). Here were the details regarding the ranbats Read more of this post

Fatal February -3rd Blazblue CS1 Ranking Battle

Another Ranking Battle for Blazblue Continuum Shift will happen this saturday, February 26, 2011. So hyped, especially since we got first page at Dustloop

This is the third time I’ll be helping out in the organizing a gaming event, and this might be the last BBCS1 ranbats that will be held, since BBCS2 is coming out Spring 2011. Obviously a write up will be followed right after the event (which will come out right after i’m done with some fig reviews) Read more of this post

P2D Labanparooza

Once again, its another fighting game-related entry and this time its P2D’s February event, Labanparooza, that takes the spotlight last weekend.

Held at “the Emporio” at Orense St (near the MMDA building), Labanparooza was an event that garnered more than 50 players from all over Metro Manila. Most of them were Super Street Fighter 4 players since there was a team battle event that was being held. But that’s not all, Capcom’s latest VS game, Marvel Vs Capcom 3, also got two stations dedicated to free play and trial as well. Read more of this post

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Acquired!

After 10 years worth of waiting, Capcom has finally brought out the much awaited third installment of the Marvel vs Capcom series entitled Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of two worlds.

This is the second time I bought a Playstation 3 DVD even if I do not own a PS3 of my own. But unlike the Blazblue Continuum Shift, I bought the MvC3 DVD as a birthday gift for my close friend. The spiderman figure didn’t come with the game by the way, I think I bought this figure five years ago. Fully poseable just like a figma too. Oh and will review that GN-X in the back soon =D Read more of this post
