Otaku Expo 2012

Kind of a late post here. There have been a lot of things happening all over and I’ll share some of them with you readers soon. For now try to enjoy the pictures from the last event which I’ve helped out recently.

Otaku Expo happened last January 21-22, 2012 and is produced by Ozine, the same people who brought the three day long convention, Ozinefest, to the Philippine convention fray. I have to say the videogaming booth this year is a bigger success because of the variety of games available this time around. Read more of this post

Ozinefest Figure Special

Get ready for an eyeful of figure pictures (I really mean that this is a LONG article). 100+ images worth of figure pictures are occupying my flickr account so expect not to be able to access the other pics when you go to flickr to check other pics outside of this article. (darn you 200 image-at-a-time limit).

Ozine, and Team Onii-Chan was able to deliver last December 28-29 a figure-centric event. You don’t see this happening much in the Philippines as most conventions that cater to Japanese sub-culture enthusiasts focuses more on cosplay, or general anime stuff. Read more of this post

UP-Ame Saturday

Since I’m not able to go to AFA11 in Singapore this year, I opted to enjoy my supposed AFA Saturday as much as I can.

UP-AME is a yearly festival which usually occurs around November. I used the word festival instead of convention not only because that’s how its marketed through its communication efforts, but also because of the entire atmosphere of the event. Girls above are from their maid café, or in this case a yurei café. I tried to make the entire day awesome not only by going to UP-Ame, but also by visiting multiple areas that may also interest you guys as well. Read more of this post

September’s Monthly Musings

It’s been what, a month since I last placed anything in the blog? To the readers of this blog, thank you for the continuous support that you have given me. I’m quite surprised that there were people who emailed me and there were still readers despite the inactivity. Been really busy at work and life in general, nothing serious or life-endangering. I’ve also decided to do other things that would either be an investment in time, or I won’t feel that my time was wasted.

Speaking of productive things, I’ve decided to visit two exhibits during the month of September. To be specific, I decided to go out with some friends during my birthday just to take a look at galleries. I’m not exactly talking about the fine arts gallery here though. As for that picture with the classroom, I’ll get to that later =D Read more of this post

Indestructible 2011

P2D hosted not just one but three tournaments during their event called ‘Indestructible’ held at the Emporio plaza, last August 20, 2011.

As some of the readers here know, I’ve been working with fighting game related events over the past year and I’ve been primarily working with the Blazblue Community. This is the first time I’ve had the chance to work on something exclusively non-Blazblue related so it was quite the experience really being able to meet different people from the usual. Nendonesia Photo Contest

Nendonesia, a website made up by Nendoroid lovers from Indonesia, is proud to celebrate their 1st anniversary with a photo contest!

In case anyone is wondering why there are cellphones there, the photo contest this time around will only use mobile phones as the image capturing device. The contest is also open to everyone (local and international). You can check the rules of the contest below. Read more of this post

Ozinefest 2011 Figures

I’ve been totally lagging behind some posts, and this is what happens. A 103 imaged backlogged post.

I already did the entries for the cosplay and the gaming section of Ozinefest, so I guess its appropriate to now go to the final section, the figures. Luckily our booth was located right in front of it, and people from iairdash got IDs that’ll allow us to go inside early. The person in charge, Edrell, allowed us to take pics inside the divider, before the event started. Read more of this post

Ozinefest Cosplay

As promised, some cosplay pics, which I took during Ozinefest. There were a LOT of awesome cosplayers during the event. Sadly, I was busy helping out our booth, which lead to a lower number of pictures taken.

I’ll probably be talking less here since I don’t know all the people in the cosplay community here and the characters they are portraying, so forgive me for the lack of of textual substance this time around ^^ Read more of this post

Ozinefest BBPH IAD Booth

Well this is a pretty late post, probably two months late already.

Better late than never I guess. Occupying two convention centers, Ozinefest was held April 8-10 within the premises of Megamall in the Ortigas Area. We pretty much one day that was casual laden, while Saturday and Sunday were dedicated for the Blazblue CS1 tournament and the Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournament. Both tourneys had a high turnout, and we had to turn down some people who came in late or because the 64-man limit was already fully occupied. Read more of this post

IAirDash Website and Ozinefest Teaser pics

Never imagined that I’d be writing and editing for two websites at a time, as if my blog wasn’t enough. Despite this added workload, I would like to think of this as another opportunity of sorts for me to polish writing skills and meet new people as well.

IAirDash, or IAD, is a fast growing information hub website which caters primarily to fast paced 2D fighting games, which often times has an air dash ingrained into its system. Aside from the obvious adoption of a gameplay system as a name, IAirDash also stands for having the mindset of doing the most seemingly impossible. Doing a self-propelled dash in mid-air is impossible, then again, setting foot on the moon was considered impossible as well a few centuries back. Whether it be beating the best player or perfecting a seemingly impossible combo you want to execute, IAD aims to exemplify the spirit of never giving up. Read more of this post
