Otaku Expo 2012

Kind of a late post here. There have been a lot of things happening all over and I’ll share some of them with you readers soon. For now try to enjoy the pictures from the last event which I’ve helped out recently.

Otaku Expo happened last January 21-22, 2012 and is produced by Ozine, the same people who brought the three day long convention, Ozinefest, to the Philippine convention fray. I have to say the videogaming booth this year is a bigger success because of the variety of games available this time around. Read more of this post

1/8 Saber New Costume Ver Review

I’m actually reviewing this figure because she now belongs to someone else. Sold her along with Maid Saber and Butler Saber to a new owner.

This Saber is from Kotobukiya, and the costume is from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. This is actually one of the older Saber figures out there and I have to say it’s made quite nicely. Read more of this post

New hardwares

Just wanted to share you guys the stuff i got this december-january.

I’ve placed the entire set up to the left of my desktop for easy viewing of strategy guides and combo videos XD The biggest challenge here were the cords. I had to buy an extension cord and rewire the entire table to accommodate the new stuff. Read more of this post

Ozinefest Figure Special

Get ready for an eyeful of figure pictures (I really mean that this is a LONG article). 100+ images worth of figure pictures are occupying my flickr account so expect not to be able to access the other pics when you go to flickr to check other pics outside of this article. (darn you 200 image-at-a-time limit).

Ozine, and Team Onii-Chan was able to deliver last December 28-29 a figure-centric event. You don’t see this happening much in the Philippines as most conventions that cater to Japanese sub-culture enthusiasts focuses more on cosplay, or general anime stuff. Read more of this post

2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 24,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 9 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Click here to see the complete report.

My Note: Not bad,  considering the fact that the blog wasnt regularly updated since august. Will try harder this 2012 =D

Saber Fate/Extra Sega Prize Review

This game has been keeping me preoccupied for the past two weeks such that I haven’t been able to blog much or reply to people lately. In the end, it was inevitable that I bought this figure the moment I saw it.

Okay, I wasn’t exactly the one who bought it. My friend told me “Hey, I havent given you a birthday gift yet have I? I’ll buy you any figure as long as it’s in the 1,000 peso range”. That’s around two thousand yen, and for those who think that they wouldn’t find anything nice with that budget, think again. Read more of this post

1/8 Samurai Tamaki Kousaka review

Hmmm its been another week of zero blogging, or twitter or any form of social media and I’ve been itching to write articles during that time. I was able to find some time in between a lot of stuff, and what better way to spend the time than by ogling reviewing an awesome figure.

This version of Tamaki comes from Manaka de Ikuno!! Final Dragon Chronicle -Guilty Requiem-. The game puts the To Heart 2 cast in an RPG-fantasy setting of sorts. I can’t explain past the game, since I haven’t played it, but the character designs are charming enough to make people want to get a figure (even if they haven’t played the game yet) ^^ Read more of this post

UP-AME figure display

As mentioned in the last post, I’ll be sharing with you guys the figures that were up in the figure showcase found in UP-AME.

The figure showcase was made possible by Team Onii-chan  . These guys have been active for several conventions already to provide con-goers with figure eye candy. Recently, they’ve also started having talks on figure maintenance as well. Took pictures of all the figures (which were currently present when I got there) found during UP-Ame. Hope you guys enjoy. UP-Ame Saturday

Since I’m not able to go to AFA11 in Singapore this year, I opted to enjoy my supposed AFA Saturday as much as I can.

UP-AME is a yearly festival which usually occurs around November. I used the word festival instead of convention not only because that’s how its marketed through its communication efforts, but also because of the entire atmosphere of the event. Girls above are from their maid café, or in this case a yurei café. I tried to make the entire day awesome not only by going to UP-Ame, but also by visiting multiple areas that may also interest you guys as well. Read more of this post

Servant Saber Figure Reviews

Yes that’s plural. Decided to review two figures at the same time because I saw these figures and I was reminded of a maid and butler café.

To those who are unfamiliar with the series, no they’re not twins. Those two figures are from Type-Moon’s Fate Series. To the left we have Saber in her bodyguard attire which you’ll see in Fate/Zero, while to the right we have Saber’s maid costume found in Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.
